With the arrival of Spring season/ Basant in India, everybody is looking forward to a prosperous and colorful Holi.
In India, like diversity exists in areas, Holi is also celebrated differently in every state.
But the vibe of the Holi festival is the same, with colors, happee faces, and some crazy accidents/mishaps unfortunately.
But ,worry not ! We've got your back, and thus present a quick round-up of dos and don'ts for the maddening festival of Holi.
1. PLEASE, NO PRESUMPTIONS THIS TIME : NOT EVERYONE LIKES COLORS ON THEIR FACES.
It's inappropriate to think that because it's Holi, you can throw colors or water on anyone. We get it, you don't have any wrong intentions but please don't presume that everyone would share the same emotion like yours for Holi.
Holi Hai! But just be aware of this fact too.
2. HOLI IS NOT FOR ANIMALS
It's high time we realize that Holi isn't for animals. When we throw colors on them, we should realize they can't wash themselves, and these colors can cause them serious issues. Your fun could cost the life of these poor souls. So please don't.
3. DON'T DRIVE RECKLESSLY
Holi being a vibrant festival, people often think doing anything would be fine on this day. Including driving at reckless speeds, not following any traffic rules or driving drunk. But this is not what we call fun. Losing lives or having accidents on a festival can leave a harsh scar on you and your family.
4. BE RESPONSIBLE
Before picking up a friend and throwing them in the pool (of mud, maybe), make sure he/she is up for it: Given the number of bodily problems we're all living with, it's probably a safe idea to warn your friend (in jest) beforehand, if you intend on doing the noble deed, that is.
5. GO SLOW ON THE ALCOHOL
Given how crazy Holi is by default, you don't need huge doses of alcohol to lower inhibitions further or reach a point where you're not entirely in control of your body. That'd just leave a bad taste. So, go easy on the drinks, and drink enough water in between.
6. PLAY IT ECO
Considering there are already too many chemicals in form of our essentials, we would highly recommend to use eco friendly colors. Not only they easily come out, they also don't do any harm to your skin, hair and of course our Mother Earth.
Wish you a very Happee and a joyful Holi.
