One killed, five injured in blast at Delhi's Chandni Chowk - The Times of India


NEW DELHI: One person was killed and five others injured in an explosion at Delhi's Chandni Chowk's Naya bazaar area on Tuesday.

Crime and forensic teams have reached the site of blast and are picking up the samples. Delhi's anti-terror wing, special cell are at the spot of explosion in NayaBazar.

Explosive materials, used in crackers, were found at the site of explosion.


Police sources are saying that it could be a cylinder blast.

The man who died in the explosion is yet to be identified. More details awaited.

Youth dies after bike skids near Ashoka Hotel

NEW DELHI: A 27-year-old man died after his motorcycle skid near Ashoka Hotel in Chanakyapuri, even as his family claimed that he was hit by a vehicle, police said on Monday.

Shanmugan Mohan, who worked as a documents carrier with the Italian Embassy, was severely injured when his motorcycle allegedly skid on Vinay Marg near Ashoka Hotel early on Monday.

He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival, a senior police officer said.

According to police, Mohan might have lost balance and fell. However, his family members claimed that he was hit by a vehicle, an officer said. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
